The Iqama is one of the most important legal documents in Saudi Arabia. Even the slightest error can lead to numerous complications and difficulties. A common mistake is printing misspelled names.
Changing the name on the Iqama Before starting the procedure to correct the name on the Iqama, you need to know why it is important and necessary.
As you know, the Iqama is the essential legal document for living and working in Saudi Arabia. The Jawazat (registration office) prints a lot of information on it, such as your name and date of birth. Furthermore, your name is written in both Arabic and English. But if the information isn't correct, then it's a real problem.
Problems with a misspelled name
First, it's entirely possible that banks will refuse to open your account. Money transfer agencies like Tahweel Rajhi and Quickpay may also block your transactions. The reason is simple: your name doesn't match.
Secondly, if you plan to migrate to Europe, Canada, Australia, etc., you must submit a clean criminal record check. If the name on your Iqama differs from your passport, the police may refuse you entry.
Thirdly, when applying for a permanent family visa, the chances of refusal are quite high due to name discrepancies. So, what can be done to change the name on the Iqama? Let's explain the procedure.

If the name on the Iqama still contains an error, then go to the jawazats and inform them of the mistake.
