The General Directorate of Traffic (Moroor) in Saudi Arabia has clearly defined the requirements and steps necessary for renewing a vehicle's technical inspection. As part of the license renewal process, cars must undergo a technical inspection. The duration of the inspection depends on the type of vehicle.
Vehicle Technical Inspection:
The Saudi Motor Vehicle Authority (Moroor) has stated that new private cars must undergo a technical inspection every three years. The authority also said that public taxis, buses, and other forms of public transportation must be inspected two years after registration.
Absher Periodic Inspection:
The General Directorate of Traffic states that a Periodic Inspection is a basic requirement for changing vehicle ownership. To transfer ownership, the buyer must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record, as well as a valid Periodic Inspection certificate.
According to the "Absher" platform, periodic inspection data does not appear through digital identity on the Absher Individuals platform; if periodic examination data is not linked, a note will be displayed during the vehicle registration renewal service.
Periodic Inspection:
According to the vehicle registration system, a technical inspection is when a car is checked at one of the approved periodic inspection centers. He emphasized the importance of drivers committing to having their vehicle inspected annually. The system requires all drivers to have their vehicle inspected once a year, except for new private vehicles, which are inspected three years after the first driver's license is issued.
Vehicle Inspection Result:
The Saudi Organization for Standards, Metrology and Quality has adopted an official account for Periodic Inspection, revealing how cars are routinely inspected for technical issues. The account also lists methods for verifying the validity of the inspection, stating that the following are ways to check the validity of the inspection.
